Grandparents Rights
California law offers limited rights to grandparents. If the parents of your grandchild are refusing to allow you contact with the child, and you can demonstrate to the court that it is in the best interests of the child to maintain a relationship with you, the court may establish your right to visitation. If you are having trouble obtaining access to your grandchildren and you feel the child’s life is being detrimentally impacted, attorney Lorri M. Thompson can help by filing a motion with the court requesting an access order on your behalf.
